Psychotherapeutic Counselling
The primary focus of psychodynamic psychotherpy is to reveal the unconscious content of a client's psyche in an effort to alleviate psychic tension. In this way, it is similar to psychoanalysis.
A psychoanalytic therapist will encourage you to say whatever is going through your mind. This will help you become aware of hidden meanings or patterns in what you do or say that may be contributing to your problems.
Psychodynamic therapy is usually ongoing, or long-term, however, it is possible to harness some of the techniques and insight within short-term work.
"My approach is less formal than traditional psychotherapy, so please don't worry about things like uncomfortable silences. My aim is to build a good working relationship with you early on, so that positive results start immediately. I am communicative and active in my approach, while gently enabling you to understand your inner feelings, how you got to where you are now and how you can move forward successfully".
